Background

The “Les Vertes Campagnes” co-ownership in Gex, located at an altitude of 600 metres, called on Accenta to replace two faulty, energy-hungry gas boilers.

To reduce its energy bills and carbon footprint, the owners’ association wanted to supply its 3 buildings with an energy mix made up mainly of renewable energy.

Accenta’s tailored solutions

The technical solution

The site survey confirmed that the geothermal-based heat production solution could be implemented.

The project required the installation of the following modules:

  •  A 3,400 m geothermal borehole field (17 boreholes 200 metres deep)
  •  Rooftop solar thermal panels to recover surplus renewable solar energy in summer and geo-store it in the subsoil for use the following winter
  •  1 water-to-water geothermal heat pump
  •  1 back-up gas boiler providing 9% of heat production
  •  1 buffer tank for domestic hot water and heating water

The financial solution

The installation comes with a third-party financing offer from the Aïden joint venture, set up by Accenta, Eren and Idex.

It covers all the costs, in return for repayment in monthly instalments lower than the initial energy costs.

Benefits for the client

The use of AI-controlled geothermal energy has radically transformed the co-owners’ relationship with energy.

  •  A drastic reduction in energy consumption (-77%) and CO₂ emissions (-91%)
  •  Monthly repayments 10% lower than the costs of the reference gas solution
  •  A reserve of heating and cooling available during consumption peaks thanks to the geo-storage system
  •  A noticeable improvement in residents’ thermal comfort
  •  Several decades ahead of the roll-out of climate standards
  •  An increase in the property value of the equipped site (green value) and an enhanced eco-responsible image for the client
