Our story

The Eren Group

Founded in 1979, Eren Groupe (an acronym for Économie des REssources Naturelles – Natural Resource Economics) has established itself over more than 40 years as a pioneer of the energy transition in Europe

With an entrepreneurial culture rooted in the long term, the group develops and finances concrete low-carbon solutions that reduce emissions and preserve natural resources. With more than €2 billion in assets under management and around forty holdings in the energy sector, Eren Groupe has a unique investment capacity that enables it to accelerate the roll-out of projects with a strong climate impact, from renewable energy to storage and the decarbonisation of buildings and regions.

Eren Low-Carbon Buildings

Mission & Commitments

Eren Low-Carbon Buildings is the group’s brand dedicated to the long-term performance of buildings. Its ambition: to turn its clients’ energy consumption into a genuine measurable competitive advantage, working site by site or across an entire real estate portfolio. The targeted results are ambitious and concrete: up to 80% reduction in energy consumption and 95% fewer CO₂ emissions across an entire building portfolio.

Eren Low-Carbon Buildings structures its support around five key missions:

Eren Low-Carbon Building is thus positioned as the strategic partner for property owners and managers seeking to combine economic performance, regulatory compliance and measurable environmental impact.

BMS & Control

An established player for nearly 40 years, Esmé Solutions specialises in implementing technical solutions for connected buildings. Its platform centralises all building data in a 3D BIM environment, making it possible to supervise, control and optimise technical installations in real time. The goal: to give commercial and industrial property managers simple means to control their energy spending while guaranteeing comfort and regulatory compliance.

Fafco logo

Ice storage

Fafco develops ice-based thermal energy storage solutions, making it possible to store energy at night to meet cooling needs during the day. Its technology offers tailored performance and unrivalled control, significantly reducing energy bills and peaks in electricity consumption. With 3,650 MWh installed and 1,470 storage units deployed worldwide, Fafco has established itself as an international benchmark in thermal storage

Water-horizon logo

Cooling as a Service

Water Horizon is a Toulouse-based deeptech company that has developed the world’s first mobile thermal battery. Its patented technology converts industrial waste heat (energy that was previously lost) into renewable cooling or heat, redistributed to another site at another time. In Cooling as a Service mode, the client pays only for the energy consumed, with no upfront investment: Water Horizon sizes, finances and operates the entire infrastructure.

Electrical storage

Eren Energy Storage, the result of an alliance between Belgian entrepreneurs and Eren Groupe, offers industrial battery management solutions to optimise energy consumption at industrial and commercial sites. The batteries integrate with photovoltaic panels, charging points and industrial equipment to maximise self-consumption, reduce distribution costs and monetise electricity on the markets. Three financing models are available (from full investment by Eren to the conventional CAPEX model) for savings from the very first year.
