Mouratoglou Hotel & Resort

The centre chose geothermal energy to supply its courts, swimming pools and hotel, cutting its energy bill by 74% and achieving ROI within 7 years.

Background

The Mouratoglou Tennis Academy called on Accenta to deliver on its environmental ambitions.

The assignment was to equip the 600 m² of offices and 12,000 m² of hotel space with a clean and cost-effective heating and cooling production system.

Accenta’s tailored solutions

The resort chose to install a geothermal-based heating and cooling production system made up as follows:

For the administrative building

  •  4 vertical boreholes 95 m deep to recover the natural heat of the ground
  •  A geothermal heat pump to process the heat transferred by the boreholes and inject it into the distribution circuit
  •  Respilot software to intelligently regulate the system’s operation and ensure its long-term efficiency

For the hotel

  •  A 6,600 m geothermal borehole field (74 boreholes 90 m deep)
  •  1 air-source heat pump
  •  2 geothermal heat pumps
  •  A field of solar thermal panels

Benefits for the client

  •  The environmental objective has been achieved: in addition to significant reductions in CO₂ emissions, the resort now consumes local, unlimited and endlessly renewable energy, thanks to the regeneration of the subsoil provided by geo-storage
  •  The economic impact is just as significant: a drastic reduction in energy bills and, as a bonus, an increase in property value
  •  In terms of climate regulations the results are also noteworthy: with such energy results, the resort is ahead of tightening low-carbon standards for several decades to come
