City of Roubaix

Management of the building portfolio.

160 000 m

across 71 buildings

Swimming pool, stadiums, sports halls, schools

Background

For environmental and economic reasons, the City of Roubaix called on Accenta with the aim of reducing the energy consumption of its building portfolio. To do so, Accenta proposed to closely monitor energy consumption and to control the HVAC equipment, since it accounts for a significant share of the city’s spending.

The City of Roubaix plans to deploy a solution by adding buildings progressively. It therefore needs to bring together the data from its buildings on one single platform. The solution must also be compatible with working with different maintenance contractors.

Accenta’s tailored solutions

The City of Roubaix chose Accenta’s smart control solution. This infrastructure is being deployed according to the city’s schedule and building by building, and enables optimised control of all HVAC equipment.

On the technical side, the main components installed are as follows:

  •  Temperature and CO₂ sensors
  •  Connected meters
  •  Customised management interfaces

This equipment is connected to the following platforms, provided to the maintenance contractors:

  •  Effipilot, the hypervision platform, where alerts are configured to detect equipment malfunctions and drift
  • Insight, the solution for monitoring consumption data and CO₂ emissions

This artificial intelligence software controls the HVAC equipment in each building in real time, based on analysis of consumption and ambient indicators (temperature, humidity, light levels, weather, etc.) measured in the different functional zones.

An Energy Management service also advises the maintenance contractors to achieve maximum energy performance.

Networking these elements across the city’s entire building portfolio creates a single, centralised and smart system.

Benefits for the client

The Smart BMS installed by Accenta offers several benefits for the city and its residents:

  •  Real-time monitoring of all buildings, on PC and smartphone, covering all consumption and anomalies, through dashboards configured to the client’s requirements
  •  Production of enforceable consumption data across the entire building portfolio, whatever the maintenance contractor, through application of the IPMVP protocol
  •  Controlled comfort across all the city’s buildings
  •  Compliance with the BACS Decree
  •  A contribution to the objectives of the  Tertiary Decree with easier submission of the information required annually on the Operat platform
  •  A performance guarantee through a joint commitment with one of the maintenance contractors on part of the portfolio (41 buildings)
  •  Energy spending and CO₂ emissions reduced by 30% on average over the 2025 heating season
